Our Sustainability Commitments, Your Eco-Friendly Actions

At the La Marine Hotel, we are already committed to sustainable tourism that respects the environment, nature, and our oceans.
As partners of Sea Shepherd, an activist group dedicated to the protection of marine species and to sustainable and responsible fishing, we are particularly mindful in our day-to-day operations:
Close to you, close to everything.

• We use only eco-friendly household products: white vinegar, baking soda…: we follow all of our grandmothers’ tried-and-true methods, with all their
  effectiveness…
• We water our plants, but only a little, using the same water-saving “drip irrigation” system as local farmers
• We have installed individual air conditioning units in each room, so you, too, can play a part in our efforts to use energy wisely. Thank you!
• We only change your linens if you feel it is necessary and request it: since laundries are among the most polluting industries,
• We no longer provide bottles of water, in order to reduce plastic and plastic waste on the coast: the water is safe to drink, so please help yourself! Please bring your own water bottles: we’ll be happy to fill them up with plenty of fresh water
• We have stopped using disposable cups and replaced them with reusable cups made from recycled plastic, featuring the hotel’s logo and colours
• We are reducing our use of paper and chemical-based inks by sending your invoices, maps and booking confirmations by email. Please do not print them out; keep them on your phone so they’re always to hand.
• We have fitted water-saving devices to the shower heads and taps. You can reduce your water consumption by being mindful of how long you spend in the shower.

So you too should take the initiative and play your part: switch off your lights when you leave, and your air conditioning; close your shutters instead to keep out the heat, and use a blanket if you need a little
extra warmth.
And of course, don’t open the window if you’re using the air conditioning.
